Vegan Ranch Dressing made with coconut yogurt that's great for dipping. Ready in 3 minutes! A creamy and simple dip that's so much better than store-bought. Enjoy this ranch with sweet potato fries, cauliflower buffalo wings, fresh veggies and so much more.
This creamy vegan ranch dressing is my go-to recipe that I’ve been enjoying for years! I can whip it up in minutes when I’m craving a creamy dressing or dip with simple ingredients that I always have on hand. It’s tangy, full of delicious dill flavour, and is the absolute best pairing for my Baked Sweet Potato Wedges and Cauliflower Buffalo Wings!
Most ranch dressings are cream-based, and therefore are not possible to enjoy on a plant-based diet. But this is an easy at-home recipe that everyone can enjoy. Made with coconut yogurt, it’s a recipe that I feel good about feeding my family. I love this wholesome recipe, my husband loves it, and even my 18-month-old son loves it!
Vegan or not, I really think you’re going to love this 3-minute plant-based ranch dressing too. So, let me tell you exactly how to make it.
This easy homemade ranch recipe is made with 3 main components:
A creamy base: I used plain coconut yogurt as my creamy base. It’s got a very similar creamy texture to greek yogurt. It also means this recipe doesn’t require an immersion blender, food processor, or high-powered blender to make, which would be the case of this recipe relied on cashews as the base for the creamy flavour. If you can’t find a coconut yogurt in your local grocery store, learn How to Make Coconut Yogurt at Home with a couple cans of coconut milk!
One small splash of acidity: This helps brighten up the creamy flavours and enhance the flavour in the herbs and spices. I used apple cider vinegar, but you could also use distilled white vinegar or freshly squeezed lemon juice in its place. I recipe tested with both these options and it was just as delicious.
A simple blend of seasonings: Dried dill is a must in my opinion to add a burst of flavour. I tried recipe testing this vegan ranch without dill, and much preferred it with.

You won’t believe how quick and easy this recipe is to make! On my recent episode of Vegan Afternoon with Two Spoons, I share 3-Must Have Sweet Potato Recipes, including my oven-baked crispy sweet potato wedges with this ranch dressing for dipping!

Add the coconut yogurt, ACV and spices to a mixing bowl.Stir together and enjoy!
Prep Ahead Options
As with most of my vegan Sauces, Dips, and Dressings, this homemade ranch dressing recipe can be prepped a couple of days in advance and chilled in the refrigerator until ready to use. Prepping this ranch in advance also helps the herbs and spices meld into the yogurt and makes it more flavourful.
Storage Instructions
Once prepped, this dressing will keep for up to 5 days. For optimal freshness, store in an airtight container such as a glass mason jar or similar container with a sealable lid.
When ready to use, give it another good stir and serve while chilled!
Serving Suggestions
One of the best parts of this dairy-free ranch dressing is you likely won’t have trouble finding ways to enjoy it.
Here are a few of my favourite ways to use it, but of course feel free to experiment!
Veggie snacking: If you’re looking for a flavourful dressing for your veggie sticks, look no further! Pair this version with baby carrot, celery sticks, raw broccoli and cauliflower for a simple snack (perfect for school lunches!). I’m able to eat a lot of veggies when I have this dip as my companion.
Pizza: This ones a little unconventional, but some people love dipping their pizza into ranch or even drizzling it on top of a BBQ “chicken” pizza! Give it a go with one of these delicious plant-based pizza recipes: TGIF Vegan Pizza, Vegan Cauliflower Pizza Crust, or this incredible Salad Pizza!

Notes
This vegan ranch makes a delicious dip for my Baked Sweet Potato Wedges and Cauliflower Buffalo Wings! To thin it out, simply add a tablespoon of unsweetened plant-based milk at a time until your desired consistency is reached. Avoid using water – this will water down the dressing and make it less flavorful.

This is an excellent recipe- 5 stars for flavor, simplicity, and clean ingredients. Just to note, it was a little salty for our palates, so you may want to start with less salt and add to taste depending what you’re eating it with. Really good with fresh dill!
My family really enjoyed this clean, simple ranch recipe! I used plain Greek yogurt in place of the coconut yogurt, and we left it thick and creamy to use as a dip for veggies. I have saved this recipe to revisit as my new go-to. Thank you for this excellent ranch alternative without all the additives!
