Ingredient Notes:

The ingredients for this recipe are simple and straight forward! Likely you already have them in your pantry. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Tahini: The base of this recipe! Tahini is made from sesame seeds and is ultra creamy! It makes for a luxurious thick and creamy caesar dressing that’s dairy-free and nut-free.
  • Lemon Juice: Adds tanginess and brightness to our dressing. I also recipe tested this with apple cider vinegar and it was a great substitute.
  • Dijon: A hint of dijon adds depth and umami to this vegan caesar salad dressing. I highly recommend!
  • Garlic: Fresh and finely chopped garlic is a must in our caesar dressing! I recipe tested with dried garlic but it wasn’t as nice.

How to make Vegan Caesar Dressing

  1. Excited to try this, due to my daughter’s allergies. However she cannot have capers (the jarred ones have corn in them – an allergy). What can I use in place of that?

    Thanks so much 🙂

  2. This dressing is AMAZING! I love that it is so easy to prepare. The dressing is perfectly creamy and has the ideal amount of each ingredient so the flavours hit all the right places on your palette. This is a staple for sure! Thank you!

  3. It’s definetely one of my favorite dressings! Easy and delicious. Perfect also for non-vegans, everyone loves it!

  4. Holy cow. Yummy. This is my new go-to dressing recipe. Trying to incorporate more vegan staples in my life and ceasar salads are one my faves, so this is perfection!

    • Hi Whitney. I am thrilled you enjoyed this recipe so much! Good on you for incorporating more vegan staples into your life! If you ever have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out, and thanks so much for the sweet comment.

  5. This recipe sounds yummy! I’ve been using Trader Joe’s vegan Caeser’s (which is pretty tasty), but I’d love to make my own.

Question: is the mustard the smooth, creamy kind? I have both mustard seeds and powder. I’m never quite sure what to use when recipes call for mustard! 🙃

    • Hi Lorna! Thanks so much for your message! For this recipe, you can use either smooth dijon mustard or the grainy kind! I love them both! In this recipe, I’ve used the smooth dijon mustard. But as I said, it’s up to you which you prefer. The smooth dijon mustard makes for a smoother dressing consistency, but the taste will be just the same with either choice. Hope you enjoy the recipe!
