Quintesens Review

Hiya guys! If you haven’t already seen, I’ve spent the past few weeks sharing with you some recipes using products from a wonderful company called Quintesens. It’s a French company that focuses on making healthy oils, vinaigrettes and sauces for health-conscious consumers.

I thought I’d take this blog post to consolidate my thoughts about their products into one place. As well as share with you some recipe inspo if you’re wanting to know what to make with their products.

So let’s begin!

Vinaigrettes:

I had the pleasure of trying all three of Quintsens vinaigrettes and they are fab! First of all, I love how this company got creative with their vinaigrettes trying out different flavours that step outside of the norm. For example, their balsamic vinaigrette is not just your average balsamic. They’ve added sun-dried tomatoes and thyme to the mix. The flavours are bright and interesting, making for a flavourful drizzle on top of salad greens or quinoa salad. They also have an Intense vinaigrette, made with mustard, garlic and paprika, and an award winning Tonic vinaigrette, made with lemon, ginger and curcuma. No meal can be boring with these tasty dressings.

Typically, I prefer to make my own salad dressings because I know exactly what goes into them. But the vinaigrettes by Quintesens are a great alternative for the busy-bee’s who still want a health-conscious choice. What I like about these pre-made mixes as that the ingredients are straight forward and clean. I find that too often dressings are choco-blocked with millions of ingredients half of them being totally illegible. The ingredients in these dressings however are clear. They consist solely of oil, vinegar, water, salt and spices. My kind of product! TBH, I sort of forgot the level of ease a store-bought dressing can be! Oh the simplicity of just grabbing and pouring.

The “Provencale” balsamic vinaigrette worked perfectly as a dressing on my Fig and Arugula Pizza.

Healthy Oils

Probably the coolest of Quintesens products are the different types of oils they offer. Whether you’re young and fit, pregnant, or catering to kids or grandparents, Quintesens has an oil for all ages. For me, it was the Fit-Actifs oil that jived with my lifestyle. The oil is made specifically for a fit and active lifestyle blending extra virgin olive oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed and linseed. The company worked with naturopaths and nutritionists to create a range of oil blends for each lifestyle. The goal is to offer a perfect ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 for every category of person.

Not only is it the mindful blend that I liked about this products. I also like the versatility of this oil. It can be used for cooking in the oven or your frying pan, or served raw in salads. It has a higher boiling point unlike olive oil, which means that it doesn’t turn into a carcinogen at high roasting temperatures. So you can have it hot or cold.

I used their Fit-Actifs oil to make my Garlicky Roasted Eggplant with citrus-tahini-dressing.

Ketchup

I must admit, I’m a bit of a bully when its comes to having ketchup in our home! The nutrition facts in a bottle of Heinz is enough to repel me for all time. And I will avoid buying it at all costs. You might not know, but there is SO much sugar in ketchup and hardly any tomato at all! TBH, I felt a bit betrayed by Heinz when I learned this slight detail. And ever since ketchup has been a no-go.

Sometimes I will revert to making ketchup myself. Mixing tomato paste with salt, vinegar, and a bit of honey. In fact, it’s pretty good. But this L’incroyable tomato ketchup by Quintesens, makes it even easier to fall back in love with ketchup. I love that it’s organic and that the ingredient list is minimal. It’s made of only 3.5% sugar (because they know that there’s no need for more!), and no artificial colouring or preservatives. Now that’s a ketchup I can get on board with!

I used this ketchup to dip my Spiced + Crispy Baked Potato Wedges.

Quintesens Ketchup

All-in-all Quintesens proves to have quality organic products that keep health top of mind. Something that is so important to me when it comes to what I put in my mouth. There is no doubt that I will be a long-term customer. So, the next time you’re at the bio store, keep your eyes peeled for this brand. I’m sure you too will be impressed by just how healthy and tasteful their products are.
