SuperFat nut butters Review: To buy or not to buy?

Hi guys! Today I’m sharing a SuperFat nut butters review.  The company behind what seems to be the trendiest pocket-sized nut butters on the market. So what’s in these stylish hand held nut butters, and why the hype?

Well for one, SuperFat isn’t only offering a typical peanut or almond butter spread, oh-no-no. Instead, they’ve taken nut butters to whole new level. Offering ultra unique flavours like cacao coconut, coffee + MCT, and Macadamia MCT with Probiotics. Healthy fats never looked so chic. Seems like SuperFat has taken research studies, and the ever-growing trend of plant-based and keto diets to create a delicious snack for the health conscious foodie.

So, should we go nuts for these nut butters? Well, that depends on what you’re looking for in a quick and healthy snack. Lucky for you I’ve outlined both the pros and cons found in this SuperFat nut butters review.

SupperFat nut butter pros:

1. Convenience: The Ultimate Travel Buddy for Active and Busy lifestyles

If you’re an active foodie balancing work and play, then the portability of these nut butters are a HUGE advantage. They are super convenient to throw in a purse, desk drawer, jacket pocket or gym bag for a quick pick me up.  You can literally open and eat a SuperFat packet with one hand while you drive, or change into your yoga pants. And they’ll give you a good boost before a workout, to keep you full and energized.

Whats more is that snacking on these before a workout won’t cause any cramping! I often have to stop eating an hour before a workout to avoid cramps. But I can have one of these nut butters and go for a run with no cramping. And I find that a huge bonus.

2. The Unique Flavours

It doesn’t get more original than adding probiotic and MCT oil to nut butter. Rite? Certainly, there is nothing bland about these blends. SuperFat has really put thought into making delicious blends to eliminate boring snacking. What’s more is that their nut butters are macadamia nut based, which is ultra unique as macadamia nut butter is hard to find in most grocers. My favourite flavour is definitely the cacao and coconut, because – well, I love chocolate and coconut! So combined is pure bliss. But you truly can’t go wrong with any of these blends.

3. Ticks all dietary preferences

When it comes to dietary preferences, it’s certain that SuperFat gets an A+. Certified vegan, certified keto, certified paleo, gluten-free, sugar-free, certified organic, and kosher. Needless to say, you’re definitely snacking healthfully with these SuperFat packets. Share a box of these with your yoga buddies and I swear – it’s like Halloween for adults.

SuperFat nut butter cons:

1. Consistency and separation

Sometimes these nut butters need a little massaging. But don’t we all!! If left sitting for some time, it’s possible that the oil will separate from the nut butter. But a quick 15 second massage is an easy fix to recombining. And the good news is that ALL natural nut butters do this, so it’s nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, it’s good to know there’s no fillers or funny business going on.

2. Single use packaging

As we become more environmentally conscious, single-use packaging can have its set-backs to aiding in a greener planet. Using something once, and throwing it away doesn’t really pay tribute to that second R (re-use) we’ve been told to do since primary school.

I’d love to see this product offered in a format that addresses this. Perhaps by selling in bulk with reloadable chargers, or making a SuperFat recycling program (like what Nespresso does with their coffee pods).

Although, single use packaging like this is nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to packaged snacks. I mean, granola bars also have disposable wrappers. However, it would be great to see SuperFat take the lead on greener snacking.

3. Price

SuperFats nut butters are priced at $34.95 for a 10-pack, which can be a tad pricey. And you could make a similar style snack yourself. A cheaper alternative is to buy a jar of all-natural peanut butter or almond butter, and prep the serving sizes out in mini containers. In terms of getting healthy fats, and keeping you full and satiated before a workout, you’re going to get the same results.

However, you’re not going to get the same uniqueness of flavours, nor the caliber of combos like macadamia nut and MCT oil. If you wanted to buy these type ingredients then you’re probably looking at the same price, if not more. And keep in mind, ingredients like macadamia nut butter and MCT oil are hard to find at most grocery stores.
