Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen pineapple
  • 1 cup frozen banana
  • 1 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (1/4 cup more if desired)
  • 4 tbsp hemp hearts (or 1 scoop vanilla protein powder)
  • 2 tbsp shredded coconut
  • pinch turmeric (optional for bolder colour)

Instructions

  • Toss all the ingredients in a high speed blender and blend on low until smooth, 1 to 3 minutes. Optional to use splashed more almond milk to thin if desired.
(If using protein powder: forgo adding the date, unless you like it very sweet. Most protein powders contain sugar).

Notes

This recipe is extra-thick! And can be enjoyed as a smoothie or smoothie bowl with toppings like fresh pineapple, banana and granola.
If you prefer a thinner smoothie, add splashes more almond milk until you've reached desired consistency. This is also helpful if you don't have a high-speed blender for easier blending.
