This apple crumble is a traditional warm and comforting dish that you can enjoy for breakfast or dessert. It's quick and easy to make, and a great way to use up wrinkly apples.
Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Peel and core your apples, and cut into thin slices.
Make apple pie compote and add to cast iron skillet, or baking dish. (See notes for apple pie compote recipe).
Prepare your crumble topping. In a mixing bowl add oats, almond flour (ground almonds), pecans, coconut sugar, and salt. Melt coconut oil in a saucepan and pour over crumble topping. Mix well.
Sprinkle crumble topping over apple compote in an even layer. Place in the oven to bake for 30-45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
