Toast Tuesday: Berry Chocolate Avocado Toast

Toast Tuesday: Berry Chocolate Avocado Toast
It’s another Gourmet Avocado Toast for Toast Tuesday! There is no denying that this avo toast trend just won’t quit. It’s too good to boot! Like strawberry jam, avocado toast is here to stay. But, I think we can all agree that smashed avocado sprinkled with salt flakes isn’t going to make anyones jaw drop like it used to. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could order smashed avocado on breakfast muffins at McDonalds soon. I mean, once you’re able to order avo toast at pretty much every brunch spot in town you know it’s hit mainstream. So that’s why we’ve gotten a little creative with this Gourmet Avo Toast – adding new tastes and flavours to bring out the best this decadent toast has to offer.

This delicious medley starts with whole wheat toast topped with layers of fresh avocado, red berries and dark chocolate chips. Say what?! Chocolate! Have you ever tried avocado and chocolate? If not you are in for a treat! Who would have thought the two flavours would pair so well together? It’s like strawberries and cream – they are a match made in heaven.

I’m not really sure what drove me to try this unique pairing. Maybe I had seen it on Pinterest? Or, maybe it was inspiration from the infamous old favourite: avocado mousse, that was hiding in my subconscious just waiting to be adored once again? Or, maybe I was roaming in my cupboards looking for some inspiration when the chocolate chips caught my eye and I thought, “this will be interesting!” But, whatever the reason – I’m so glad this dynamic duo came into my life! The creaminess of the avocado works so well with the chocolatey crunch making it feel more like a dessert toast than the typical savoury toast. Topped with a few tart red berries adds another flavour sensation that will have you swooning. Honestly, this trio is a party in your mouth.

And of course avocado toast is one of the easiest meals to prepare! So you can enjoy it for breakfast, lunch or snack time (or maybe even dessert if you’re feeling adventurous). And given it’s the summer and we are all looking to spend minimal time in the kitchen and more time soaking up the sun I say bring on the toast, boss! I can’t think of an easier and more delicious recipe to nosh on. This Berry Chocolate Avocado Toast is just waiting to be crowned a deliciously decadent toast combo.

So I strongly urge you to spare a few chocolate chips and red berries for this avocado toast. It’s a game changer!

Hope you avo delicious day! 😉
